The Methodology

How the 3-Step Reset Works

A low-friction, compassionate system built to bypass executive dysfunction and turn room overwhelm into calm.

01
Step 1

Pick One Zone & Breathe

Micro-containment over whole-house overwhelm

The biggest obstacle with ADHD is initiation. Staring at an entire room overstimulates your brain with dozens of unfinished tasks. We ask you to select just one contained zone—such as your desk surface, kitchen sink, or the pile of laundry on the chair.

What happens during this step:

  • Select a preset zone or snap a quick photo for AI guidance
  • Take a centering breath with our 4-second haptic inhale prompt
  • Set a gentle cap (usually 10 to 15 minutes max)
02
Step 2

Follow Step-by-Step Pacing

Externalized prompts keep your working memory anchored

Press Start and let the app pace you. The Easier Day Reset guides you through each individual micro-action: "Clear surface mugs and cups first." Pacing your movements ensures you do not frantically rush, lose focus, or wander into a different room.

What happens during this step:

  • One physical action per prompt—no multi-tasking
  • Clear countdown timer calibrated for low activation energy
  • Tap to mark complete or skip with zero penalty
03
Step 3

Savor the Calm & Rest

Healthy dopamine closure without burnout

When the timer chimes or the zone is clear, you stop. We encourage you to stand back, take in the serene surface, and acknowledge your achievement. No lingering "I should have cleaned more"—just clean, guilt-free satisfaction.

What happens during this step:

  • Zero streak penalties or negative reinforcements
  • Permanent record of your calm moments in your private logbook
  • Immediate reduction in visual sensory clutter

Pro-Tips for ADHD Reset Sessions

Small behavioral hacks that make a massive difference in task initiation.

1

Focus on One Surface

Keep your eyes strictly on the targeted zone. Resist the urge to reorganize adjacent areas until this reset is complete.

2

Keep a "Doom Basket" Nearby

For items that belong in another room, drop them in a temporary basket so you don’t leave your zone and get sidetracked.

3

Stop When the Timer Rings

Respecting the boundary prevents burnout and trains your brain that resetting is safe, short, and manageable.
